- 1/2 lb. browned hamburger
- 1 med onion diced
- 12 oz. chorizo
- 1 – 5oz. package Mahatma Spanish rice
- 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies
- 2 tsp cumin
- 2 cups water
- tbsp cooking oil
In skillet, brown on medium heat onion, hamburger & chorizo with tbsp. oil. Add Rice packet, tomatoes, cumin, water. Stir to blend thoroughly. Heat on med. heat, stirring occasionally until starts to thicken, reduce to low/simmer until all liquid is absorbed. Serve.


This is great – just the right heat and flavor that really “hits the spot.” It’s good as a meal itself or as a side. I’ll bet it would go great with tamales.
