I needed an apron for work. I found a thick scrap piece of material that was used for a cover for an outdoor swing. I doubled the material and sewed the edges together, turning rough edges under. Folded over one end for the string to be attached into. Cut out the pictures from other scraps, used heat bond to iron on the pictures to secure them while I zigzag stitched around all edges to secure them. Once all the pictures were secured then fold almost in half to create the pocket. Set aside, find about a yard of material to cut and sew into the strings, bias tape would work for a simple string. Cut the material about 3 inches wide and fold edges to center and then fold in half, using and iron to hold the folds will help. Sew along the edges. Place about 2 inches of the strings into the ends of the apron where you folded over the edge for string, pin string in place. Sew around all edges except bottom. Sew some divides into the apron if you want. I made one divide to narrow the place where my pens would go, so they didn’t slide around.

Slight modification, I added a strap with a buckle. The apron string was too easily pulled untied and would loosen around my waist easily.

This is really cool Jen!
